The "Asahiyama" Cherry Tree, also known as Sakura, was first recorded in 1823 at the Harano Shrine in Kyoto. It was named after a western suburb of Kyoto located along the Oi River, which is renowned for its picturesque cherry blossom and mountain views. This tree is a medium-sized variety that produces bright pink buds that open to elegant, semi-double white flowers with a delicate pink edging. These flowers, which measure approximately 4 cm in diameter, bloom in mid-April and emit a subtle fragrance.
