Safe Arrival Guarantee
We guarantee the safe arrival of all our trees and plants. If your order is damaged or lost in transit, we will replace it. A clear photo of any damage is required before a replacement can be sent.
Shipping Dates & Special Instructions
If you would like your order shipped on a specific date or delayed until spring, please include your request in the order notes under the cart total at checkout.
Seasonal Shipping Information
Trees purchased from October to March may arrive mostly or fully dormant. Deciduous trees lose their leaves in winter, which is normal and not a sign of poor health.
Winter is a good time to purchase trees because they ship well while dormant. However, we may delay shipping during extreme cold.
We do not replace trees damaged by frost. Trees shipped in March or April will have new spring growth, and it is the customer’s responsibility to protect them from late frost.
Shipping Details
We ship within Canada only.
All orders ship via UPS.
During peak seasons, shipping may take up to 2 weeks to leave our facility. Most of the year, we ship within 5 business days.
Once your order is in process and you have received a shipping notification, no changes can be made.
Important Reminders
Please double-check your shipping address before submitting your order.
Our system prints labels exactly as the address is entered. Incorrect addresses incur a $25 UPS address-change fee.
We ship Monday through Friday during high-volume seasons.
Japanese maples are shipped in their containers with a bag over the soil to prevent spills.
All packaging is designed to protect the health of the tree.
Deliveries require a physical address (no P.O. Boxes).
At Island Ornamental, we strive to ensure that all of our customers are satisfied with the products we provide. In the event that customers receive plants that have been damaged in transit, we will offer the following refund policy:
Customers must notify Island Ornamental via email within three (3) days of delivery. Once Island Ornamental has confirmed the damage via photos, an assessment will be made and store credit or a replacement plant may be issued at our discretion.
