CFIA-Compliant Japanese Plant Imports (Canada) All plants imported from Japan fully comply with Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) import regulations. Each plant undergoes on-site inspection at the originating Japanese nursery and must be certified free of pests and diseases to prevent the introduction of foreign contaminants into Canada. Before release into Canada, plants are inspected again by CFIA agents at the port of entry. This strict multi-stage inspection process is highly regulated, time-consuming, and costly, and approval is not guaranteed, even after all requirements are met. Because of the inspection fees, phytosanitary certification, risk of refusal, specialized handling, and international logistics, the pricing of our imported Japanese plants reflects the true cost of legal, responsible, and CFIA-approved plant importation into Canada.

Temperature

Hardy in zones 5-9. Tolerates heat and cold well. In mild climates (zones 8-9), may retain leaves through winter. Protect from harsh winter winds in colder zones.
